Bust Winter Blues

with 5 indoor activities

By Cassie January 13, 2013
Even though winter break is over for most, the weekends can still be a problem especially in the areas like mine where it can be really cold outside during the winter months. Now I know here in St. Louis we don’t have it as bad as those north of us, but we get some crazy wind and the dry cold air hurts. So staying inside is a must. Unfortunately with little kids that can make for a long day with lots of fighting and a mommy that needs to pop open a bottle of wine by lunch time.
Here are some of the time 5 things we have been doing to keep my sanity to keep the kids occupied.

Top 5 Indoor Activities for Winter
  • Scavenger Hunt
either make a list to have the kids find specific objects within the house or call out the objects. I sometimes use this for cleaning as well.
  • Indoor Balloon Volleyball
Blow up a balloon and use a rope, string or anything you have on hand to create a “net” and start to play. We play one floor bounce and walls are in bound.
  • Table top soccer
using a box top or just the table, straws, and a cotton ball, Blow through the cotton ball to score goals.
  • Ping Pong Basketball
Similar to Beer Ping just take a ping pong and cup and try to make baskets.
  • Hide & Seek
You can’t pass up the classics.
So what have you been doing to keep the boredom  at an all time low at your house?
